The Bedroom

I came across this bedroom on Pinterest a couple of weeks ago, and it's just been one of those things I've not been able to get out of my head. I've been searching for the perfect paint color for our bedroom for several years actually, and I immediately fell in love with this one named Rainwashed by Sherwin Williams.

So in my credit-card free world, I decided to tally up the cost of everything I'd need to make this room and to start saving for it:

So I'm thinking maybe around $500 to do the whole room. Not too bad for a complete makeover and very doable. It's going to be a welcome change. We've been in our house for five years and I still haven't updated the bedroom wall paint - it's still a lemon yellow that I said I was going to paint over the second we bought the house. In actuality, it's the ONLY room in the house I haven't repainted since we moved in!

  1. I like that bedroom, and that color is so soothing! Good luck!

  2. That is gorgeous! I'm always drawn to those colors.

  3. Ohh, that is basically my dream bedroom! How pretty and calming. And I'm now obsessed with that bench!

  4. SO pretty!! we have a bluish gray in our bedroom :) Great breakdown! You'll have to show your before and after if you do it!

  5. AWE-SOME! I already have the paint color .. now to hunt for the rest... I SO need a re-do!

  6. So glad u shared this. I've been looking for that perfect blue for our bedroom too. You may have just inspired me here.....

  7. What a beautiful bedroom! Love that paint color!

  8. I really love the color of this bedroom and have been trying to convince my hubs that we need a makeover after 7 years and two kids :) I also love your blog and am adding it to Feedly reader. Love meeting other southern bloggers.

Madder than a Wet Hen

Sunday afternoon, I went to the grocery store, came home, left the car unlocked for hubs to get the groceries out (hey, I buy, he puts them up) and I forgot to lock the car back. Monday morning, I get into the car and everything has been pulled out of the glove compartment, middle console and backseat pockets.

Unfortunately, the little guy left his Nintendo DS Lite in the back because he was playing it at the yard sale this weekend. It's the only thing of value I left in the car and they got it. It just makes me so mad.

Now I feel like an idiot - I haven't reported it to the police yet because I don't want a lecture about locking my car doors at night - I know I'm supposed to, just forgot!!!!

Hubs is now obsessed with catching the criminals, sleeping with one eye open at night. I'd heard that the economy has caused more crime, but why did they have to steal from us, from my little guy?

Star Wars Gift Bag Tags

Two years ago, for Walker's Star Wars birthday, I created Yoda tags to attach to the gift bags for the party. Little did I know these bag tags would become so popular on Pinterest!

To date, these tags have been repinned almost 500 times!!!

So I thought since there's so much interest, I'd add them to my Etsy shop. So now, for just $8.00 - you can receive the file electronically and print them for yourself! I jazzed them up a bit with some sliver glitter puff paint on the light saber and some silver ribbon to attach to the dollar store bags. Print as many or as few as you want!

So, if you are planning a Star Wars party, check them out! And may the force be with you!
