Junior League Holiday Market

I used to be in the Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties - it's actually where I met many of my current friends! We had a blast together, and enjoyed giving back to others and our communities. After I had Walker, it was too much for me to try to work full time, be a mommie and volunteer with the JLDOC, so I took a leave. One of the events started when I was still involved with the JLDOC was the holiday market. The first one was held in a small space and had just a handful of vendors.

The JLDOC Holiday Market is now in its 7th year and has grown to more than 50 vendors. If you're in the Durham, Chapel Hill or Raleigh area the weekend of December 11, stop by the Durham Marriott and check out all of the great vendors at the holiday market!

Come shop from over 50 vendors at the 7th annual Holiday Market! Vendors will be featuring the latest in food, home décor, gifts, seasonal items, & clothing. Bring your children to visit Santa & get a picture for your holiday cards. Planning to shop until you drop? Relax & refresh yourself with a cocktail at our festive holiday bar! Before you leave, stop by our raffle table and try your luck at winning some of our fabulous prizes worth over $2000.

Tickets are $5 and tickets serve as your raffle ticket.

We look forward to seeing you on at the Durham Marriott Convention Center located at 201 Foster Street Durham, NC 27701

Happy Pills

I'm a crazy person. At least, that's what I feel like some times. And it runs in my family. No, not really crazy (and don't take offense if you are one of me), but just clinically depressed and filled with anxiety. It's as if I don't have something to worry about in my head constantly, then I don't feel normal. Luckily, there's a pill for that. It's a bitter pill, one that I'll basically have to take the rest of my life, but I've slowly accepted that it's like any other disease, and just like diabetes or heart disease, that little pill is gonna make me better. But that little pill makes me gain weight, gives me the brain shivers when I miss it, and although I've tried to get off it multiple times, I just can't. So I guess that makes me an addict as well. But it's a pill that my grandparents and family didn't always have, and they suffer from it as well, so I should be thankful for this little red capsule of happiness...
