Beach Bum

We traveled to the beach over July 4th weekend and for the first time since Walker was born, I actually went all of the way in the water! The water was so beautiful and blue and clean! I couldn't help but thank of those beaches effected by the oil spill and how many people's vacations were ruined because of the conditions.

And the really excited thing - Walker finally wanted to spend all day on the beach! Up until this trip, he's always wanted to stay at the pool and play, but this time, he really got into finding sand fiddlers on the beach, searching for tiny clams and jumping the waves. I taught him how to make a drip sand castle and we dug a hole deep enough for him to stand in. He and his cousin played and played and then they would go take a dip in the pool for a little while and want to go back on the beach.

This morning he woke up and said, "Mommie, I want to go back to the beach." And I said, "
Me too." Usually he can't wait to get home because he's such a home-body, but I think we've finally turned him into an official beach bum! Luckily, we get to go back for a week and a half later this summer, so we still have more beach to look forward to!

Star Wars Gift Bag Tags

Two years ago, for Walker's Star Wars birthday, I created Yoda tags to attach to the gift bags for the party. Little did I know these bag tags would become so popular on Pinterest! To date, these tags have been repinned almost 500 times!!! So I thought since there's so much interest, I'd add them to my Etsy shop . So now, for just $8.00 - you can receive the file electronically and print them for yourself! I jazzed them up a bit with some sliver glitter puff paint on the light saber and some silver ribbon to attach to the dollar store bags. Print as many or as few as you want! So, if you are planning a Star Wars party, check them out ! And may the force be with you!

Baby Shower Inspiration Boards

I got all excited about the baby shower inspiration board contest over at Sippycups Are for Chardonnay , but only ended up submitting this first one on time. I managed to pull the second together this weekend just for kicks and loved the colors, so thought I'd share here. The first board is call "Nesting Instincts" and the second is "Over the Rainbow". I think I could get addicted to creating these things.
