My Son is Like ESPN

My Son is Like ESPN: All Sports, All the Time.

I swear if he doesn't get a scholarship to college one day (preferably UNC of course) I will be shocked.

Current sport obsessions are baseball and lacrosse. Mike and Walker play baseball in the backyard every evening (while mommie has some me time) and are beating up his room playing lacrosse. His nicely decorated room has become a bit of a mess - what better excuse to redecorate, right?

I've put a moratorium on basketball inside the house, moving them to the back deck.

My kitchen and living room are covered with balls, as is the backyard.

And I'm seriously thinking about adding a trophy wall somewhere in the house. We've got three already and he's only five!

But of course, I wouldn't have it any other way. What about you?

  1. I know what you mean! My son is 6 and the same way. We have a basketball room on our 3rd floor with 2 baskets, one at each end. He loves it. Last year, we added an outside basket too. Looking ahead, any sort of college scholarship would be awesome, you know?

  2. What a little MVP! Sounds like he may be a Tar Heel yet. :)

  3. Love it! It's so great when kids have a true passion for something. For my son, it is baseball. Even our cat is named after Pudge Rodrigez (the old Detroit Tigers catcher). Looks like you better get yourself a comfy fold-out chair!

Star Wars Gift Bag Tags

Two years ago, for Walker's Star Wars birthday, I created Yoda tags to attach to the gift bags for the party. Little did I know these bag tags would become so popular on Pinterest! To date, these tags have been repinned almost 500 times!!! So I thought since there's so much interest, I'd add them to my Etsy shop . So now, for just $8.00 - you can receive the file electronically and print them for yourself! I jazzed them up a bit with some sliver glitter puff paint on the light saber and some silver ribbon to attach to the dollar store bags. Print as many or as few as you want! So, if you are planning a Star Wars party, check them out ! And may the force be with you!

Baby Shower Inspiration Boards

I got all excited about the baby shower inspiration board contest over at Sippycups Are for Chardonnay , but only ended up submitting this first one on time. I managed to pull the second together this weekend just for kicks and loved the colors, so thought I'd share here. The first board is call "Nesting Instincts" and the second is "Over the Rainbow". I think I could get addicted to creating these things.
