UNC Football (VIP Style)

My company sponsored the football game Saturday in Chapel Hill and I manage our sponsorship, so I get a few perks now and then. Along with some great BBQ and hushpuppies, we also received VIP tickets to sit in one of the suites to watch the game. We were actually sitting right behind Woody Durham (The Voice of the Tar Heels) and the whole on-air team for the Tar Heel Sports Network.

Some highlights from the day:

  • I asked the guys at Tar Heel Sports if they could find something special for my little guy and they gave him an official UNC Nike jersey in his size. He was truly in heaven.

  • Hubs sported a UNC hat the entire afternoon and even said he was impressed with how nice every was and how everything was so organized and well-run (vs. the typical Duke events he's been accustomed too - how can you even compare????)

  • Coach Roy Williams came up to my little guy and said "Hey Bigman" and then shook his hand. I didn't have my camera out and it all happened so fast. My little man totally didn't understand why mommie was squealing after-the-fact.

  • I climbed the bell tower for the first time ever (and my shins were KILLING me yesterday from all those stairs).

  • Everything, including the sprinkles on little guy's ice cream, was Carolina blue...and I absolutely LOVED IT!!!!

  • and...we won the game!

  12. We opted for State/Duke assuming it would be more action... shame on me, I know. Guess that's what I get. We'll be back in Tarheel town next, I'm sure. Maybe the home team won't get beat!

Star Wars Gift Bag Tags

Two years ago, for Walker's Star Wars birthday, I created Yoda tags to attach to the gift bags for the party. Little did I know these bag tags would become so popular on Pinterest! To date, these tags have been repinned almost 500 times!!! So I thought since there's so much interest, I'd add them to my Etsy shop . So now, for just $8.00 - you can receive the file electronically and print them for yourself! I jazzed them up a bit with some sliver glitter puff paint on the light saber and some silver ribbon to attach to the dollar store bags. Print as many or as few as you want! So, if you are planning a Star Wars party, check them out ! And may the force be with you!

Baby Shower Inspiration Boards

I got all excited about the baby shower inspiration board contest over at Sippycups Are for Chardonnay , but only ended up submitting this first one on time. I managed to pull the second together this weekend just for kicks and loved the colors, so thought I'd share here. The first board is call "Nesting Instincts" and the second is "Over the Rainbow". I think I could get addicted to creating these things.
