Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.

...that's one of my favorite Dr. Suess quotes. My mom bought me most of the Dr. Suess books when I was little, and I remember sitting in my basement reading them over and over again.

Pottery Barn Kids looks to be mainstreaming the Dr. Suess brand with its cute new line of bedroom linens! How cute is this bedroom??? There aren't a lot of cute and not too over-the-top bedroom linens for toddler boys out there - but I think this one would be perfect! Too bad I just redid my little guy's room.
I really don't think about the Dr. Suess books much these days and I never knew then how deep some of his famous quotes really are. I was looking for a fun quote to use as the title to this post and came across a lot of his famous sayings:
  • Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.
  • The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.
  • Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one.
  • You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.
  • Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
  • You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself, any direction you choose.
  • Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try.

  3. Oh yes. Love Dr. Seuss. I used to read Oh, the Places You'll Go! to my senior students every year at the end of the year. And they liked it. I regularly use it for a grad gift! And there were other books that we sometimes used with high school students. The themes are timeless and ageless. Great quotes. Thanks!!

  5. I love that quote. J2's yearbook staff used it on the final page of their book and it was so fitting, as they had such a wonderful class and while they were all excited to be moving on, it was very bittersweet to see it all come to an end. That seemed to sum up their experience perfectly.

Star Wars Gift Bag Tags

Two years ago, for Walker's Star Wars birthday, I created Yoda tags to attach to the gift bags for the party. Little did I know these bag tags would become so popular on Pinterest! To date, these tags have been repinned almost 500 times!!! So I thought since there's so much interest, I'd add them to my Etsy shop . So now, for just $8.00 - you can receive the file electronically and print them for yourself! I jazzed them up a bit with some sliver glitter puff paint on the light saber and some silver ribbon to attach to the dollar store bags. Print as many or as few as you want! So, if you are planning a Star Wars party, check them out ! And may the force be with you!

Baby Shower Inspiration Boards

I got all excited about the baby shower inspiration board contest over at Sippycups Are for Chardonnay , but only ended up submitting this first one on time. I managed to pull the second together this weekend just for kicks and loved the colors, so thought I'd share here. The first board is call "Nesting Instincts" and the second is "Over the Rainbow". I think I could get addicted to creating these things.
