Spooky, Naughty Napkins

I came across these great napkins online at BuyCostumes.com and thought they were too great not to share! Everyone loves a great beverage napkin and they are a cheap way to add a little something extra to even a simple gathering for drinks around any holiday!

We're Going to Myrtle Beach Y'all...

I grew up going to Myrtle Beach with my family but I haven't been there in almost 5 years. My husband and I are getting ready to celebrate our 7 year anniversary (wow!) and the gift of 3 nights and four days in a three-bedroom suite in North Myrtle Beach has fallen into our laps. My little man is going to stay with Nana for the weekend and will not miss us because he'll be riding fourwheelers with his cousins and climbing on tractors until he's exhausted. I can't wait to lay by this pool and do nothing but read the entire Twilight series. I've already started the first book and I LOVE it! Has anyone else read these books? I know they are written for the teenage crowd, but I loved Harry Potter too and that was for a much younger audience!

I'm A Carolina Guy

I'm a die-hard Carolina fan and graduate (and my husband is a Dukie, bless him) so I'm trying to teach my son the words to the Carolina fight song. "I"m a TarHeel born, I'm a TarHeel bread, and when I die, I'm a TarHeel Dead." He's actually created his own version: "I'm a Carolina guy, I'm a Carolina guy and when I die, I'm a Carolina guy." Guess it's pretty close.

It's Official - I'm a Soccer Mom!

My little guy had his first soccer practice last week and he was a star! I think I was more excited about it than he was because I couldn't wait to be an official soccer mom. We live right beside the soccer fields, so I've been watching the teams play for about three years now, with the little ones running around chasing the ball and the moms and dads cheering them on from the sideline. My husband is a sports nut, so my little man is destined to be one too.Yesterday he went to the golf course with daddy to hit balls, played football with the kids next door, played baseball with daddy and the teenager across the street and kicked the soccer ball in our yard for a while. No nap and he finally passed out around 7:30 last night. He is my little energizer bunny!

Life's A Beach

I am fortunate to have in-laws that have a home at the beach, and I am a huge beach-lover myself and have passed that love onto my son. We get to visit there quite often, so he already knows the difference between a marlin and a dolphin, saltwater and regular water and loves shrimp and fish. Now, all you moms will admit that going to the beach with kids vs. how it was before kids is much different (and I only have one). It's hard work and those days of laying by the pool are almost non-existent. Our last summer beach visit was this past weekend and on the last morning I had one of those moments where you hold your child just a little bit longer and a little bit tighter. We went swimming for a while and when it was time to go, I wrapped my little guy up in a towel and sat him in my lap to warm up and dry off. It occurred to me that next summer my little man who has always been dependent on me to hold his hand in the pool and watch his every move won't need me as much next summer...

Dancing in September - All Things Fall!

Fall is my favorite time of the year. I love the smell of fall and I actually caught my first whiff of it yesterday evening and I smiled. Fall means harvest day at church, football games, cool evenings and chilly mornings. Grey's Anatomy will FINALLY come back to me and so will warm comfy clothing and cute boots and jackets. I'm loving the 2008 fall collection at Boden and went to the site to order some items this week and almost everything I liked is already on backorder for 2 months! Guess it gives me something to look forward to! Here are a couple of great new Boden pieces for the Fall!

Such a Poser

Can you tell he's been followed around with a camera his entire life? All I have to do is say, "smile for the camera" and this is the adorable pose I get.
