Future Quarterback Needs Agent

My son has decided his favorite sport is football. He wants to be the next quarterback for the Tar Heels, hates the Dallas Cowboys and has memorized which team has won every NFL game this season.

The sports obsession is passing on from my husband to my son, naturally, I suppose. God bless the woman that ends up him because she will be destined to weekends of football, golf, basketball - pretty much any sport that comes on TV. Thank goodness for DVR or my husband would always have an excuse as to why he can't go somewhere with me.

I never thought football would be the thing that clicked with Walker. Mike's a golf professional and Walker's had a club in his hand literally since the crib. He's played soccer the last three years, and he's pretty good, but he doesn't have that determination and fire on the soccer field I see with football. With football, it's different. He wants his hands on that ball, wants to outrun the competition, wants to beat #4 (his arch nemesis).

My dad was a football player, captain of the high school football team, and even played a bit for East Carolina University, so maybe it's in his genes.

I know, he's only five, but watch this and see if you don't think he's superstar material:

Than again, as always, I am a bit biased.

  3. Adorable! I have to say, I liked the kid standing there kicking the dirt! At this age, there are always a few of those on the field. Just hanging out and having fun.

Happy Pills

I'm a crazy person. At least, that's what I feel like some times. And it runs in my family. No, not really crazy (and don't take offense if you are one of me), but just clinically depressed and filled with anxiety. It's as if I don't have something to worry about in my head constantly, then I don't feel normal. Luckily, there's a pill for that. It's a bitter pill, one that I'll basically have to take the rest of my life, but I've slowly accepted that it's like any other disease, and just like diabetes or heart disease, that little pill is gonna make me better. But that little pill makes me gain weight, gives me the brain shivers when I miss it, and although I've tried to get off it multiple times, I just can't. So I guess that makes me an addict as well. But it's a pill that my grandparents and family didn't always have, and they suffer from it as well, so I should be thankful for this little red capsule of happiness...
