New Floors All Around

So, to pick up where I left last week, I was at Home Depot looking at carpet for our den and came across the Martha Stewart line. And I mentioned my slight obsession with Martha (that I try to keep quiet as not to sound like a stalker) and my natural attraction towards that robin's egg blue she uses in all of her branding...gets me every time.

So, I asked Butch, the current resident Home Depot carpet expert on duty, "How's this Martha Stewart Carpet? Haven't heard anything about it."

Butch replies "You know, I've been in this business for twenty years and never once have I seen carpet that has a lifetime guarantee against stains - including pet stains."

Have you met these two that live with me?

So, then I have to pick out the style I want! Gah!! So many choices for this "when it comes to decorating I'm so non-committal" girl.

And he says "Shag, twist, frieze - it's the best carpet - it's a decorator's dream carpet - the perfect carpet if you have animals and kids."

"Yep, got both. Why so perfect?"

"Because you are actually walking on the side of the carpet fiber - not on top. Because it's longer, it pushes down when you walk, so it lasts forever."

"When can you come measure?"

So, they came this morning and measured with this really cool computer thing and hopefully I'll have new carpet very soon!

Double bonus - they have color-coordinated paints at Home Depot too that helps you pick which paints go with which carpet color!

Now, to find someone that can finish hardwoods...I hear that's a trickier one.

  1. Sounds like you're going to have some snazzy new floors very soon. :)

  2. Thanks for sharing about the Martha carpet...I too have a pup that still has accidents (ie, when she is punished, she's a passive-aggressive pee'er...on the carpet!).

Baby Shower Inspiration Board: Sweet Little Things

It's been a while since I posted an inspiration board, so when I saw that Angie Harmon's friends threw her a candy-inspired baby shower this weekend, I thought it would be fun to come up with some ideas of what it may have looked like! Yummy!

New Addition to the Family...

Meet the newest member of our extended family, Sporky. Sporky arrived Christmas day and was the one and ONLY thing my 12-year-old nephew wanted for Christmas. I've never held a hedgehog before now and it's not a pleasant experience when they point their spikes out at you, but Sporky started to overcome his shyness as the holidays passed and he's starting to get used to all of the attention. He really is a cutie.

Star Wars Gift Bag Tags

Two years ago, for Walker's Star Wars birthday, I created Yoda tags to attach to the gift bags for the party. Little did I know these bag tags would become so popular on Pinterest!

To date, these tags have been repinned almost 500 times!!!

So I thought since there's so much interest, I'd add them to my Etsy shop. So now, for just $8.00 - you can receive the file electronically and print them for yourself! I jazzed them up a bit with some sliver glitter puff paint on the light saber and some silver ribbon to attach to the dollar store bags. Print as many or as few as you want!

So, if you are planning a Star Wars party, check them out! And may the force be with you!
