Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta

I'm so excited because Say Yes to the Dress is coming to the south!!!

I know, I've been married for almost nine years, but I still love anything that has to do with weddings! I love watching Say Yes to the Dress, but always get annoyed when they make the viewer feel sorry for the girl that couldn't afford the $8,000 wedding gown and had to settle for the $6,000 one.

It will be interesting to see if the new Say Yes to the Dress in Atlanta, which starts in July, will have a southern flair to it. It will certainly be interesting to see the southern girls that I'm sure will appear on the show. Dear TLC, please don't pick all dumb blonde girls with the hickest southern accents to feature on your show cause there's more to us southern women than that.

What's even more cool about this new show is it is the same bridal salon that my BFF bought her dress from about two years ago! It's called Bridals by Lori and if you're shopping for a dress, you can click here to sign up to try to get on the show! She was married in Atlanta in her brother's backyard, overlooking the pool, and I actually directed the wedding. Her dress was GORGEOUS and she said they won't let you take pictures of the dresses there until you actually commit to buy. I think Kleinfields is the same way.

  1. Oh how fun and exciting! I love that show as I was in the bridal biz for 4 years, and could totally relate to all the DRAMA! It'll be nice to see a "southern" version....like you said, hopefully they make some intelligent selections ;-)

Beautiful pic of you and your BFF!! XO

  2. I bought my dress there, too, in 2001 before they moved to their bigger store! I live in Tennessee and had to make 5 different trips for fittings, etc. It was an Anne Barge dress and she came to one of the fittings because it was all done by hand. It was lovely to meet her! Can't wait to see them on TLC! How exciting!

Happy Pills

I'm a crazy person. At least, that's what I feel like some times. And it runs in my family. No, not really crazy (and don't take offense if you are one of me), but just clinically depressed and filled with anxiety. It's as if I don't have something to worry about in my head constantly, then I don't feel normal. Luckily, there's a pill for that. It's a bitter pill, one that I'll basically have to take the rest of my life, but I've slowly accepted that it's like any other disease, and just like diabetes or heart disease, that little pill is gonna make me better. But that little pill makes me gain weight, gives me the brain shivers when I miss it, and although I've tried to get off it multiple times, I just can't. So I guess that makes me an addict as well. But it's a pill that my grandparents and family didn't always have, and they suffer from it as well, so I should be thankful for this little red capsule of happiness...
