Giant Triple-Chocolate Cupcakes

IMG_7092
Seriously, I'm having a rough week.
  • It's still January - will this month ever end?
  • Had a fight with my boss (and cried in his office - hate doing that).
  • Have no money because I caught up on all my Christmas bills and first-of-the-year taxes.
  • P.M.S. (see zits in above self-portrait)
Last night I decided to turn things around, so I made giant, triple-chocolate cupcakes, just because. And we ate them for dinner. All of us - including the dog. Needless to say, the little guy was bouncing off the walls at bedtime, but we were all in much better spirits.

This morning I was all pouty and weepy and Mike just hugged me and said, "if I was your boss, I'd give you the biggest raise I could." That lifted my spirits - almost as much as the chocolate. Almost.

"When life gives you PMS, make giant, triple-chocolate cupcakes. For dinner."

  8. Funny, the only vitamin that I have no trouble taking daily, is, CHOCOLATE!! Without the lows, there would be no highs, may you be rewarded soon with lots of highs to balance your universe. God knows and SHE is in control!

  10. I will definitely be making these! They sound delicious!!

Good luck with the boss. I know it's hard (not to mention stressful) when management issues arise at work. I suggest venting as needed to us (your readers) and getting a daily dose of Dilbert. :)

Keep up the great work on your blog!

Happy Pills

I'm a crazy person. At least, that's what I feel like some times. And it runs in my family. No, not really crazy (and don't take offense if you are one of me), but just clinically depressed and filled with anxiety. It's as if I don't have something to worry about in my head constantly, then I don't feel normal. Luckily, there's a pill for that. It's a bitter pill, one that I'll basically have to take the rest of my life, but I've slowly accepted that it's like any other disease, and just like diabetes or heart disease, that little pill is gonna make me better. But that little pill makes me gain weight, gives me the brain shivers when I miss it, and although I've tried to get off it multiple times, I just can't. So I guess that makes me an addict as well. But it's a pill that my grandparents and family didn't always have, and they suffer from it as well, so I should be thankful for this little red capsule of happiness...
