The Family Tree

My uncle was diagnosed with stage IIIb lung cancer several weeks ago and has just begun his fight to rid his body of this disease. He will be enduring 39 radiation treatments and chemo once every three weeks over the coming months and I'm sending out a request for prayer, for healing strength and peace.

My cousin (his daughter) had a birthday party for her little girl this weekend, and I got to meet the newest member of our family, born three weeks ago. Since everyone in their immediate family was there, we took some photos.

I really love the last picture and the representation of the "Family Tree". To me, it also represents strength and the power of family, standing together and facing life as it brings its surprises and challenges.

"In Luke 18:1 Jesus told his disciples that they "should always pray and not give up." and then Jesus asked "...will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night?" Pray to God from your heart for healing. Don't stop. Don't give up. God wants us to ask him for help. He loves us. " By Robert Kolar

What an absolutely beautiful tribute to a solidly united family under a gracious and loving God! My family has been greatly affected by cancer. Through every step God met our needs no matter how difficult the path. I have been lifting up your family in my prayers and will continue to do so. How comforting it is to know we have a heavenly Father that we can go to for comfort, healing, and strength!

  14. What beautiful photos. And, what a special time for you all to come together. I will be thinking of you and your family. No matter how strong we are...it can still be scary when someone you love is fighting cancer.

Star Wars Gift Bag Tags

Two years ago, for Walker's Star Wars birthday, I created Yoda tags to attach to the gift bags for the party. Little did I know these bag tags would become so popular on Pinterest! To date, these tags have been repinned almost 500 times!!! So I thought since there's so much interest, I'd add them to my Etsy shop . So now, for just $8.00 - you can receive the file electronically and print them for yourself! I jazzed them up a bit with some sliver glitter puff paint on the light saber and some silver ribbon to attach to the dollar store bags. Print as many or as few as you want! So, if you are planning a Star Wars party, check them out ! And may the force be with you!

Baby Shower Inspiration Boards

I got all excited about the baby shower inspiration board contest over at Sippycups Are for Chardonnay , but only ended up submitting this first one on time. I managed to pull the second together this weekend just for kicks and loved the colors, so thought I'd share here. The first board is call "Nesting Instincts" and the second is "Over the Rainbow". I think I could get addicted to creating these things.
