When in Beaufort, NC...

You have to stop by this wonderful shop, Calypso Cottage. Just over the bridge, on the corner of Orange and Cedar, you'll find two magical, colorful, 1935 fisherman's cottages converted into Hamptonesque boutiques. Filled with unique jewelry, coastal treasures and home decor, you could spend hours just looking through the rooms of these two cottages.

My mother-in-law purchased these fun earrings for me, but I had a hard time choosing between the green and the blue. We think they would look great with a black linen dress. She also picked up some Jack and Lulu stationary. You can also see more products on their website or on the Calypso Cottage blog.

The lady that owns the shop was there, and she is so wonderful and actually has quite an exciting bio. From the Calypso Cottage website: "Stacie had her first shop, Cheznu, in Palm Beach at the age of 19 and went on to a career in high-fashion and precious jewelry working for such names as Courreges, Yves Saint Laurent and Tiffany." (WOW!) She and her husband are recent transplants from the Hamptons and decided to open the shop after visiting Beaufort for a family reunion.

And we're so glad they did!

Madder than a Wet Hen

Sunday afternoon, I went to the grocery store, came home, left the car unlocked for hubs to get the groceries out (hey, I buy, he puts them up) and I forgot to lock the car back. Monday morning, I get into the car and everything has been pulled out of the glove compartment, middle console and backseat pockets.

Unfortunately, the little guy left his Nintendo DS Lite in the back because he was playing it at the yard sale this weekend. It's the only thing of value I left in the car and they got it. It just makes me so mad.

Now I feel like an idiot - I haven't reported it to the police yet because I don't want a lecture about locking my car doors at night - I know I'm supposed to, just forgot!!!!

Hubs is now obsessed with catching the criminals, sleeping with one eye open at night. I'd heard that the economy has caused more crime, but why did they have to steal from us, from my little guy?

Star Wars Gift Bag Tags

Two years ago, for Walker's Star Wars birthday, I created Yoda tags to attach to the gift bags for the party. Little did I know these bag tags would become so popular on Pinterest!

To date, these tags have been repinned almost 500 times!!!

So I thought since there's so much interest, I'd add them to my Etsy shop. So now, for just $8.00 - you can receive the file electronically and print them for yourself! I jazzed them up a bit with some sliver glitter puff paint on the light saber and some silver ribbon to attach to the dollar store bags. Print as many or as few as you want!

So, if you are planning a Star Wars party, check them out! And may the force be with you!
