Closet Office Space

My spring/summer home improvement project this year is to turn the walk-in closet in our extra bedroom (Lucy lives there now) into a home office. Right now I basically work on the kitchen bar, the couch or bed. I figure this could be a great little space for just me, so I'm gonna make it pink and really girly!
Here's an inspiration/idea board I put together that I thought I'd share with you all. I managed to put this together for under $200.00 and everything is available online. I'm thinking of painting the walls a soft pink as well (Where else can I have pink walls with two boys in the house????) I have shelves in there already, so that would provide additional areas for storage. Now, I've just got to find something to do with the junk currently filling the space (yard sale anyone?)

On another note, Lucy the puppy is doing much better - thanks to everyone for your comments and suggestions - they really helped. I think hubs is tired of me saying, "well, one of my blog friends said..." We've been trying to walk her longer in the evenings and she seems to be settling down a little. She's actually at the vet today getting her little girl surgery, aww....poor puppy....

  1. I have been wanting that pink chair for my apartment for over a year now! I think I will have to get it for next fall!

  2. I love it! That is so fabulous! How did you do the inspiration board?

  3. how wonderful!!! your own little space decorated just how you like it!!!

  4. Cute stuff!! It makes me want a home office to decorate ;-)

  5. Love the decor!

Glad to hear Lucy is doing better. A tired puppy is a good puppy! Hope she recovers quickly.

  6. I have that print in pink and an Ikea build-your-own desk in dark brown! Love your ideas.

  7. You should blog your process of the re-purposing! Before and afters and in-progress would be fun to watch from beginning to end! (I would never in ONE MILLION years post a picture of my closet, though, too embarassing!)

  8. you will love having your own 'pink' space! such cute stuff!I'm looking for unique desk accessories-tape dispenser, stapler, paper trays-let me know if you see any of that.

  9. Oh that would be a fabulous girlie make over!!

  10. I love the Keep Calm and Carry On Poster...REALLY need one for my Lorelai!

  11. I love it! I have two boys myself....I long for pink as well.

  12. I love it...and most definitely that pink chair will make any kind of "office" work much more enjoyable.

  13. yeah, i love that pink chair. thanks again for the header - I love it!

  14. Hubby is making a little office closet for me as we speak! I am so excited about it! Loooove yours! Pictures please!

  15. I really like what you have come up with...and every girl needs her own space. And you'll be able to shut the door and not have to put everything away each time.....

Glad to hear little one is doing better.

  16. Thinking of your puppy today!!

Your room ideas look really neat. I can't believe you have a closet you are turning into a room! :)

  17. What a great idea. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.

  18. I love the things you've pulled together!!!! I'm so excited for you, I've always wanted a little girlie nook to do whatever I wanted with! Please don't forget to show us before and after photos!

  19. Hey great post. Helped me a lot in my thinking of whether I should get a virtual office. I think it’s a much cheaper alternative for this moment of time.

  20. Great going! I wish I could find me a great place to have a girly office! Can't wait to see the finished product.

Star Wars Gift Bag Tags

Two years ago, for Walker's Star Wars birthday, I created Yoda tags to attach to the gift bags for the party. Little did I know these bag tags would become so popular on Pinterest!

To date, these tags have been repinned almost 500 times!!!

So I thought since there's so much interest, I'd add them to my Etsy shop. So now, for just $8.00 - you can receive the file electronically and print them for yourself! I jazzed them up a bit with some sliver glitter puff paint on the light saber and some silver ribbon to attach to the dollar store bags. Print as many or as few as you want!

So, if you are planning a Star Wars party, check them out! And may the force be with you!

Madder than a Wet Hen

Sunday afternoon, I went to the grocery store, came home, left the car unlocked for hubs to get the groceries out (hey, I buy, he puts them up) and I forgot to lock the car back. Monday morning, I get into the car and everything has been pulled out of the glove compartment, middle console and backseat pockets.

Unfortunately, the little guy left his Nintendo DS Lite in the back because he was playing it at the yard sale this weekend. It's the only thing of value I left in the car and they got it. It just makes me so mad.

Now I feel like an idiot - I haven't reported it to the police yet because I don't want a lecture about locking my car doors at night - I know I'm supposed to, just forgot!!!!

Hubs is now obsessed with catching the criminals, sleeping with one eye open at night. I'd heard that the economy has caused more crime, but why did they have to steal from us, from my little guy?
