Back to Happy

I had a fabulous weekend and didn't do much of anything really. Sometimes I just need a weekend of no plans and no deadlines to "get back to happy" and feel refreshed. Although I didn't have plans, I did get a lot accomplished. I managed to clean the house, fill up five yard bags of leaves and pine needles and (with the help of hubs) did laundry.

Valentine's day was low key and laidback. Hubs surprised me with chocolate and a teddy bear from Godiva that really made me smile. In 11 years together, we've never done the chocolate thing for Valentine's, so it was fun! I bought him a Cheesecake Factory cheesecake, knowing exactly how to get to his heart. I made the little guy a special heart breakfast (hubs had to work) and we visited his favorite store, Target, Saturday morning and he spent all of his "valentine money" on a new Wii game.

We watched the race yesterday and were sad Jr. didn't finish better and that the race was washed out. I did manage to get the little guy to call his papa and tell him "boogity, boogity, boogity boys, let's go racing!" Hee hee...

Welcome to Monday y'all...

  1. Ooh, if I had a Wii, I think I would have spent all my money on a new game too, ha!

  2. We watched the race as well! We were sad to see it called for rain! We watched with a group of friends...we all picked these teams...and my husband's team had the best average so he won a t-shirt. It's was Dale Jr. :)

  7. I love the toast - what a cute idea. :)
Our family loves Jr. too! And my little one has always yelled the "boogity, boogity...." line at the start of the race. It's too cute when they get so excited!

Star Wars Gift Bag Tags

Two years ago, for Walker's Star Wars birthday, I created Yoda tags to attach to the gift bags for the party. Little did I know these bag tags would become so popular on Pinterest! To date, these tags have been repinned almost 500 times!!! So I thought since there's so much interest, I'd add them to my Etsy shop . So now, for just $8.00 - you can receive the file electronically and print them for yourself! I jazzed them up a bit with some sliver glitter puff paint on the light saber and some silver ribbon to attach to the dollar store bags. Print as many or as few as you want! So, if you are planning a Star Wars party, check them out ! And may the force be with you!

Baby Shower Inspiration Boards

I got all excited about the baby shower inspiration board contest over at Sippycups Are for Chardonnay , but only ended up submitting this first one on time. I managed to pull the second together this weekend just for kicks and loved the colors, so thought I'd share here. The first board is call "Nesting Instincts" and the second is "Over the Rainbow". I think I could get addicted to creating these things.
