Personalized Valentines

I have something against those valentines you buy in the box at Target that include "one free teacher" valentine and have cheezy sayings and goofy characters on them. I loved them when I was little, and I know the kids do too, but I'm just picky that way.

For my little guy's first Valentine's day I created a picture Valentine for him, with a cute black and white picture of him that I made look like a Valentine and I took them to Target and printed a bunch of copies and bought envelopes from Michael's and slipped them into his classmate's cubbies. All of the moms loved them!

This year, I've put together this cute little card for his classmates and to send to family.
Want one too? Send me a pic and your kid's "classified ad" and I'll put something together for $15.00. Each design will be a little different, with different colors and graphics. I'll send you the high-res graphic and all you'll need to do is print them! And feel free to be inspired by mine to create your own too!

  7. Cute, cute. I feel the same about the store-bought ones...then and now. Do you remember AGONIZING over which one to give which boy in 3rd grade???? I do the same for our son's valentine's...get them from Shutterfly for family and friends. For school, I drew a little "Adam" cartoon that I use every year and it seems to go over well.

  10. I read this one day too late - I just bought Lauren's last night at the store, but maybe it's still an idea for Josh for his friends. Let me see what I can think up. I'm an accountant so I'm not very clever at those things. Lauren will be so excited to get her picture of Walker. She still has the 1st one.

Happy Pills

I'm a crazy person. At least, that's what I feel like some times. And it runs in my family. No, not really crazy (and don't take offense if you are one of me), but just clinically depressed and filled with anxiety. It's as if I don't have something to worry about in my head constantly, then I don't feel normal. Luckily, there's a pill for that. It's a bitter pill, one that I'll basically have to take the rest of my life, but I've slowly accepted that it's like any other disease, and just like diabetes or heart disease, that little pill is gonna make me better. But that little pill makes me gain weight, gives me the brain shivers when I miss it, and although I've tried to get off it multiple times, I just can't. So I guess that makes me an addict as well. But it's a pill that my grandparents and family didn't always have, and they suffer from it as well, so I should be thankful for this little red capsule of happiness...
