So Much to Say, So Much to Say...

I spent most of the holidays in my small hometown with my mom and was unable to even get my Sprint card to pick up a signal, so I decided to take a blog break. As most of you know, it was a tough Christmas for my family, so things were a little weird this year and I've not been as over-the-top into Christmas as I usually am. Decided to do things low-key, low-maintenance and low-stress as much as possible.

An update on the whole parents being separated thing, since some of you may be wondering how Christmas went for my family. Let's just say my sister and I let out some big-time emotions in a screaming match the middle of Christmas day and things were much better. You could cut the tension with a knife in our house, and everyone was on pins and needles waiting for someone to lose it. My mom cried a lot and I called my sister (who's been through the same thing) and said, "What do I do?" Of course, there's not much you can do.

Hubby missed the big blow-up between my sis and I, but heard it from the other end of the house. He said my mom told him not to go back there because we needed to let off some steam, and that we did. I came back and he said, "What's wrong?" I only said, "The same thing that's wrong with all of us."

So sorry sis, for being bitchy on Christmas day. So sorry mom for not knowing what to do. And so sorry dad that you weren't there to experience it all. Then you could see all the pain you've caused.

Promise my next post will be much more uplifting! My nephew got a hedgehog for Christmas and I can't wait to post pics!

  3. That sucks! I am sorry to hear about that. I lived through +/- 10 years of my parents being separated off and on. I just felt so sick, sad and mad all the time. By the grace of God, they finally worked things out, though. But since we're a "conservative" Southern family no one ever talked about it so we just stewed on it all that time. At least you and your sister got to let it out! Hang in there. I hope it gets better.

  7. My parents divorced when I was 13, I am now 35 and it still breaks my heart. I long for them to be together, even now. Good for you to let off that anger! It's good for the soul. Just keep praying and stay close to your sibling(s). They are the greatest link to your past and the ones most likely to stand beside you in the future. Good Luck!

  8. I never had a sister but I have two 20-something daughters, and I know that every once in awhile they have to have a big blowup and then things are fine. So sorry that your family is going through a rough time.

Happy Pills

I'm a crazy person. At least, that's what I feel like some times. And it runs in my family. No, not really crazy (and don't take offense if you are one of me), but just clinically depressed and filled with anxiety. It's as if I don't have something to worry about in my head constantly, then I don't feel normal. Luckily, there's a pill for that. It's a bitter pill, one that I'll basically have to take the rest of my life, but I've slowly accepted that it's like any other disease, and just like diabetes or heart disease, that little pill is gonna make me better. But that little pill makes me gain weight, gives me the brain shivers when I miss it, and although I've tried to get off it multiple times, I just can't. So I guess that makes me an addict as well. But it's a pill that my grandparents and family didn't always have, and they suffer from it as well, so I should be thankful for this little red capsule of happiness...
