As Pretty as Possible for Destiny

I'm typically known for my pretty steady hand, especially in the make-up department. I used to line my lips with the best of them and learned a lot from having a sister six-years my elder. But this whole liquid eyeliner thing has really challenged my skills. For a while, I thought the trend was going to go away and I could go back to the smoldering eyeliner look (which is still ok) but I envy that beautiful, clean look of the liquid eye, and that fun little flip you can add to the end on special occasions (gives you that pinup look of Marilyn Monroe or Angeline Jolie).

So, I've tried all different kinds - mostly the cheap ones cause I just couldn't commit, but now I'm truly walking the line per the recommendation from my sister-in-law of Lancome's Artliner. It has a tiny little foam tip that just rolls across my eyes and gives me what I've been looking for!!! It's not cheap ($28) but it's gonna last me a long time (and I got a Sephora gift card for Christmas). If you're looking for the perfect liquid eyeliner, I would definitely give this a go!

“I don't understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little - if only out of politeness. And then, you never know, maybe that's the day she has a date with destiny. And it's best to be as pretty as possible for destiny.” Coco Chanel

  4. I walked around sephora for an hour one day trying to find the best liquid eyeliner. I like the foam brush but some put out too much liquid...I ended up leaving empty handed. My next stop was Victoria Secret...and you wouldn't believe what I found! The most perfect foam tipped liquid eyeliner...for $12!!!! I haven't looked back. Go give it a try on your hand in the store!

  5. The quote made me feel bad. Today for the first time ever, I went to the bank without fixing my hair or putting on makeup. I didn't even put my bra on (I just put my coat on) I was even tempted to keep my slippers on...but I didn't go that far. I am glad I didn't have my date with destiny ...or maybe I did and destiny looked the other way because of how I was dressed!

    Happy New Year!

  8. One of my 2009 resolutions is to always at least put on mascara and lipstick every morning. When I don't, bad things happen: I see an ex-boyfriend I haven't seen in years, somebody asks me to do publicity for a project, etc. And I love your idea to pick a theme song for 2009! It's like a mission statement you can sing -- perfect!

Star Wars Gift Bag Tags

Two years ago, for Walker's Star Wars birthday, I created Yoda tags to attach to the gift bags for the party. Little did I know these bag tags would become so popular on Pinterest! To date, these tags have been repinned almost 500 times!!! So I thought since there's so much interest, I'd add them to my Etsy shop . So now, for just $8.00 - you can receive the file electronically and print them for yourself! I jazzed them up a bit with some sliver glitter puff paint on the light saber and some silver ribbon to attach to the dollar store bags. Print as many or as few as you want! So, if you are planning a Star Wars party, check them out ! And may the force be with you!

Baby Shower Inspiration Boards

I got all excited about the baby shower inspiration board contest over at Sippycups Are for Chardonnay , but only ended up submitting this first one on time. I managed to pull the second together this weekend just for kicks and loved the colors, so thought I'd share here. The first board is call "Nesting Instincts" and the second is "Over the Rainbow". I think I could get addicted to creating these things.
