Keeping My Cool

I've always tried to be one of those mothers that stays laid back and chilled as much as possible, but some mornings can get the best of me. Today was one of those days. I let Lulu the puppy out and little man was walking around with a Pop-tart (don't judge, it was blueberry, which is a fruit) and the dog started jumping all over him and little man was screaming and crying and I was trying to get both of them to get back in the house and that wasn't happening.

Finally the Pop-tart ended up on the ground in a million pieces and that's when little man's heart just broke and he threw himself down on the ground in a fit. All the while, I'm trying to get the dog back in the house. She then jumps up on me and leaves two wonderfully perfect muddy footprints on my freshly-pressed white shirt.
Regroup, pick little man off the ground, persuade Lulu back in the house with a treat and to the laundry room for some Shout. Lulu is back in her crate, new Pop-tart for little man and I've scrubbed the muddy off my shirt - cute outfit rescued and everyone is happy. All managed without me losing it. That's what being a mom is all about!

  1. Oh no! It sounds like a Tide commercial or something! :)

  2. GOSH, you have much more patience than me girl!

  3. You're not a mom, you're a superhero! Oh yeah, that's what a mom is. :-)

I've had many similar mornings but probably didn't handle it as well as you did. Kudos to you!

Star Wars Gift Bag Tags

Two years ago, for Walker's Star Wars birthday, I created Yoda tags to attach to the gift bags for the party. Little did I know these bag tags would become so popular on Pinterest!

To date, these tags have been repinned almost 500 times!!!

So I thought since there's so much interest, I'd add them to my Etsy shop. So now, for just $8.00 - you can receive the file electronically and print them for yourself! I jazzed them up a bit with some sliver glitter puff paint on the light saber and some silver ribbon to attach to the dollar store bags. Print as many or as few as you want!

So, if you are planning a Star Wars party, check them out! And may the force be with you!

Madder than a Wet Hen

Sunday afternoon, I went to the grocery store, came home, left the car unlocked for hubs to get the groceries out (hey, I buy, he puts them up) and I forgot to lock the car back. Monday morning, I get into the car and everything has been pulled out of the glove compartment, middle console and backseat pockets.

Unfortunately, the little guy left his Nintendo DS Lite in the back because he was playing it at the yard sale this weekend. It's the only thing of value I left in the car and they got it. It just makes me so mad.

Now I feel like an idiot - I haven't reported it to the police yet because I don't want a lecture about locking my car doors at night - I know I'm supposed to, just forgot!!!!

Hubs is now obsessed with catching the criminals, sleeping with one eye open at night. I'd heard that the economy has caused more crime, but why did they have to steal from us, from my little guy?
