Comment for a Cause

OK Ladies, I'm gonna say it - I'm disappointed. I thought I would certainly have 100 comments on my 100th post to contribute $100 to the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, but alas, we are nowhere close. Just because I'm not giving away fun jewelry or monogrammed gifts doesn't mean we shouldn't be just as excited!! You see that pink banner to the left? Not one person has posted that on their blog yet. It's surprising how quick the free gifts catch on when we have the chance to win something, but when we have the chance to give something, not so much excitement there.

There, I said it.

Oh, and I've committed to doing the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in DC May 2-3, 2009. You'll be hearing about all of the training for the 39 mile walk. I've been inspired by my friend Katy who has participated in the walk two times, has crewed once and is walking in the DC walk as well. Walk on!

  2. Gah - so frustratingly typical. Someone gives away a $10 gift donated by a retailer who's looking for free coverage and it gets over $100 hits and you graciously ask folks just to leave a comment and it barely registers with them.

Sheez... are you still doing this? I'd love to post about it and maybe share some of my readers with you as a result! Shoot me an email - Lisa (at) RaleighwoodMediaGroup (dot) com, if so!

Baby Shower Inspiration Board: Sweet Little Things

It's been a while since I posted an inspiration board, so when I saw that Angie Harmon's friends threw her a candy-inspired baby shower this weekend, I thought it would be fun to come up with some ideas of what it may have looked like! Yummy!

New Addition to the Family...

Meet the newest member of our extended family, Sporky. Sporky arrived Christmas day and was the one and ONLY thing my 12-year-old nephew wanted for Christmas. I've never held a hedgehog before now and it's not a pleasant experience when they point their spikes out at you, but Sporky started to overcome his shyness as the holidays passed and he's starting to get used to all of the attention. He really is a cutie.

Star Wars Gift Bag Tags

Two years ago, for Walker's Star Wars birthday, I created Yoda tags to attach to the gift bags for the party. Little did I know these bag tags would become so popular on Pinterest!

To date, these tags have been repinned almost 500 times!!!

So I thought since there's so much interest, I'd add them to my Etsy shop. So now, for just $8.00 - you can receive the file electronically and print them for yourself! I jazzed them up a bit with some sliver glitter puff paint on the light saber and some silver ribbon to attach to the dollar store bags. Print as many or as few as you want!

So, if you are planning a Star Wars party, check them out! And may the force be with you!
