Happy Ramblings!

I'm sure there will be very few people that read this very first posting, but I'm hoping to turn this blog into something interesting and fun for working mommies like me that still want to keep up-to-date on the latest and greatest fashion, fun and local kid activities. I'm hoping to also throw in a little knowledge about marketing and interesting things I come across at work.

I have a three-year-old and he is and will remain an only child because this is how I manage to balance my life. He is the love of my life and my husband and I are just now starting to get into the groove of parenthood. Don't feel bad if it doesn't all just fall into place. Some people want you to believe that's how it happens and it does for some people, but not for everyone!

We're in the process now of trying to decide where to send our son to school. There was a great article in the paper today about Durham schools and how they are going to start tighting up their policies on student transfers - which they should. You can read it here.

We love our neighborhood, love our neighbors and love our house, but we don't love our school district. That puts us in the private school bucket, more than likely. Right now we're leaning towards Trinity School because I think kids today need as much Christian exposure as they can get.

Star Wars Gift Bag Tags

Two years ago, for Walker's Star Wars birthday, I created Yoda tags to attach to the gift bags for the party. Little did I know these bag tags would become so popular on Pinterest! To date, these tags have been repinned almost 500 times!!! So I thought since there's so much interest, I'd add them to my Etsy shop . So now, for just $8.00 - you can receive the file electronically and print them for yourself! I jazzed them up a bit with some sliver glitter puff paint on the light saber and some silver ribbon to attach to the dollar store bags. Print as many or as few as you want! So, if you are planning a Star Wars party, check them out ! And may the force be with you!

Baby Shower Inspiration Boards

I got all excited about the baby shower inspiration board contest over at Sippycups Are for Chardonnay , but only ended up submitting this first one on time. I managed to pull the second together this weekend just for kicks and loved the colors, so thought I'd share here. The first board is call "Nesting Instincts" and the second is "Over the Rainbow". I think I could get addicted to creating these things.
