Oh Christmas Card...

CCard

I go through this every year, obsessing over which Christmas card to order, which photo to use, which outfit to put my little man in. Should I include the dog? Should it be a family pic? By chance do I try to capture the cat (because before children, he was the star of my annual Christmas card).

I know, in the whole scheme of things, it's probably pretty silly to spend so much time thinking about a Christmas card, but I personally love to get them and get so excited about opening each and every one! So I figure maybe there are other people out there like me, right?
To start with, there are so many different designs out there to choose from? There's minted, shutterfly, snapfish, tinyprints...Or, do I design and print my own? Do I go with a nicer, folded card, or a single card? Should the photo be in black and white, or color?

I did manage to get a couple of cute shots of my little man this weekend in his cute Christmas pants (that he hates and I had to bribe him with a hockey game, birthday party and a toy to wear) and these are just a couple of options I've come up with.

Which one is your favorite?
Where are you ordering your cards from this year, or will your card be digital (a trend that seemed to be popular last year)?

  1. We ordered ours from Shutterfly and got a flat, rectangular picture card with a photo of us beign silly at our trash the dress photo shoot. Next year we plan to include the cats and do a "family" picture! :)

  2. Ooh I love 1 & 3! We haven't decided on a card yet either. I might be old fashioned but some years I send a mix of picture ones and then longwinded rambling written Christmas cards. Just depends on my mood!

  3. #3, hands down!!! All 4 are cute but #3 perfect.

  4. I love #3, but I'm a big fan of receiving cards that are mainly the photo itself! And I too LOVE opening the mail during Christmas season and receiving cards :) We ordered ours from Shutterfly this year - I am almost finished addressing them if my husband would update his address list :)

  13. I love #2 only because I'm a sucker for black and white! I struggle every year as well! We finally did a family photo (even though I prefer to not be on the card, but I digress) only because so many people asked why it was just Little Man! We got ours through seehere.com (fugi film) and they were ALL free! The cards weren't as cute as some other sites, but again, they were free (even the shipping) so I couldn't complain too much! Freebies4mom.com has the code!

  14. I get SO excited about Chrsitmas cards, like I look forward to it all year long. Its kind of unhealthy! I LOVE #3. So sweet!

  15. I'm torn between #1 and #4. I can't explain exactly what it is about those two, but they made me smile :)

I will definitely be sending print cards this year...but I'm so boring and just get them at Hallmark. No personalization. BUT...with a new puppy, perhaps that will change?

Star Wars Gift Bag Tags

Two years ago, for Walker's Star Wars birthday, I created Yoda tags to attach to the gift bags for the party. Little did I know these bag tags would become so popular on Pinterest! To date, these tags have been repinned almost 500 times!!! So I thought since there's so much interest, I'd add them to my Etsy shop . So now, for just $8.00 - you can receive the file electronically and print them for yourself! I jazzed them up a bit with some sliver glitter puff paint on the light saber and some silver ribbon to attach to the dollar store bags. Print as many or as few as you want! So, if you are planning a Star Wars party, check them out ! And may the force be with you!

Baby Shower Inspiration Boards

I got all excited about the baby shower inspiration board contest over at Sippycups Are for Chardonnay , but only ended up submitting this first one on time. I managed to pull the second together this weekend just for kicks and loved the colors, so thought I'd share here. The first board is call "Nesting Instincts" and the second is "Over the Rainbow". I think I could get addicted to creating these things.
