Ok, who else is so ready for the upcoming Fall TV season? I admit, I never watch anything real-time these days - what the heck did we do before DVR?? That means I've got to set the DVR for the new shows I want to check out and make sure my oldies but goodies are still good to go!Sure, I've still got new episodes of Young and the Restless to entertain me at night, but sometimes Victor and Niki Newman just don't do it for me.
Watching TV has always been a large part of my life, I have to admit. I think one huge reason is because my grandfather owned a television store. Days that my mom had to work or I was sick, I went to the store and grandma would make me a pallet in front of a dozen televisions and I could watch TV all day long. They had Nickelodeon - and MTV! We only got three channels out in the country where we lived.
I even had a TV cake made for my grandfather's 80th birthday last year. Yep, we love some TV in our family.
I also married a TV freak. Mike can't walk in a room with a TV that is turned off without going right up to it and turning it on. I mean, I like some TV, but I can handle it being off. It's like an OCD thing with him. Walker, luckily, is so sports-obsessed, he doesn't like to sit and watch TV for hours at a time, and being in daycare, he didn't have the opportunity to when he was little, so hopefully he won't be as bad as Mike.
Back to Fall TV. I always get a little sadder in the spring when the season finales arrive and it seems like forever before September rolls around again. I've added some more summer/reality shows to my viewing, but I could really take em or leave em. So yeah for Fall TV!!!!
According to AdAge, here are the most anticipated New Fall Shows. I'm gonna admit, I've never even heard of some of these. Maybe because I always skip the commercials?
I have heard of New Girl and I'm a huge Zooey Deschanel fan, so I'm hoping that one is good. I read online that the pilot is already available on iTunes, to build up the buzz, but I haven't checked it out yet.
I'm also looking forward to Ashton Kutcher on Two and a Half Men. I didn't watch the show before, but I love him so, I'll give it a try. Another one not on this list is Up All Night, which is about new parents Christina Applegate and Will Arnett. Maybe it's because I can totally relate from Walker's baby days, but I'm going to check that one out for sure.
As far as returning shows, I'm a tried and true Grey's Fan. I stumbled upon the pilot episode the first night it aired and I've been loyal ever sense. Even the music reminds me of fall. I'm also looking forward to Parenthood, Glee, Modern Family and America's Next Top Model.
If you're not sure where to start with the new Fall TV line-up check out this cool Yahoo page with complete detail on what to watch, skip or DVR each night.
And click here for a complete listing of the fall schedules for all of the major networks and let me know which shows are you looking forward to the most? What show do you think will be the first to fall prey to its own ratings?

Sadly, I'm intrigued by Heart of Dixie on the CW! I have the TV viewing habits of a 13 year old sometimes, and that paired with One Tree Hill's final season has me a tad excited.
ReplyDeleteI'm embarrassed to say that your last two links have been like a present. I have been waiting for this week all summer! Now I have it all laid out and can start my DVR to do list! And I am so waiting for Grey's....I even put it on my calendar and am embarrassed when people read over my shoulder...
ReplyDeleteI think I'm like mike...a total TV junkie. And *love* the story about the TV store! I'm especially excited about Pan Am. I miss Mad Men... Wonder when it's coming back on?
ReplyDeleteYES! YES! I've been crossing off the days on my calendar! I seriously can't take another day of "America's Got Talent"... (luckily tonight is the finale)... Grey's, DHousewives, Modern Family. Oh, how I miss u all!
ReplyDeleteso ready for the shows to come back! I read over yahoo's list, some i agree with but some I don't...i tend to like shows that don't make it.
ReplyDeleteVery excited for fringe to come back!
I want to watch Whitney and the New Girl
Hi Wendy! Thanks for the nice comment on my blog! I hope you are enjoying TV starting this week! Let me know what you think of New Girl! I really like Zooey but her character came off sort of cheesy to me in the ads so I think I'm passing up on it tonight (TV schedule conflicts didn't help haha). I'm very very excited for Modern Family...and I really liked Up All Night! Enjoy TV and your blog break!
