Back from the Beach

We had a wonderful Memorial weekend at the beach visiting my in-laws, family and friends. I packed up the car last Wednesday along with my nephew and Walker and arrived at the beach around 9:30. Mike joined us Friday and we all came home yesterday, tanned and relaxed!

The boys had a wonderful time playing together in the pool and the ocean. It was the first vacation I've had since Walker was born that I actually had a little time to just sit and read. It was nice, yet strange at the same time. I'm so used to him needing me right by his side in the pool, but he is such a fish now, he's not even afraid of the deep end. But of course, that doesn't keep us out of the pool - I love the pool and spent many hours in it when I was a child on vacation - no reason to stop now!

Memorial weekend is when there are always lots of people at the beach - friends and family - and several people have birthdays the same week, so we always have a big birthday cake and celebrate together. Of course, we ate some wonderful seafood, I did a little shopping for a wedding I'm directing in two weeks and I got a little bit of sun on my white white self!

Happy Pills

I'm a crazy person. At least, that's what I feel like some times. And it runs in my family. No, not really crazy (and don't take offense if you are one of me), but just clinically depressed and filled with anxiety. It's as if I don't have something to worry about in my head constantly, then I don't feel normal. Luckily, there's a pill for that. It's a bitter pill, one that I'll basically have to take the rest of my life, but I've slowly accepted that it's like any other disease, and just like diabetes or heart disease, that little pill is gonna make me better. But that little pill makes me gain weight, gives me the brain shivers when I miss it, and although I've tried to get off it multiple times, I just can't. So I guess that makes me an addict as well. But it's a pill that my grandparents and family didn't always have, and they suffer from it as well, so I should be thankful for this little red capsule of happiness...
