So Mike and Walker met me last Thursday in Washington for a fun weekend of site-seeing and doing the tourist thing. Walker has been wanting to go to the Smithsonian Museum of National History since he saw Night at the Museum and we've been on every page of the Smithsonian website learning about it.
We hit all the major spots, including the Air and Space Museum, Museum of Natural History, Museum of American History (where you can see Dorothy's actual shoes from the Wizard of Oz - which was much more exciting to me than anyone else in my family.)
Hanging out with the butterflies in the bug area:
Then some down-time to relax and eat ice cream!
We bought tickets for the double-decker bus tour through the city (which is one of the best ways to see a city - works especially wonderfully when touring London). Walker loved riding high above everyone else and Mike and I enjoyed it as well. We stopped at the Lincoln Memorial and Walker grabbed this pic of us.
Swung by the white house to see if the President was in (he was actually in Ashville, NC while we were in DC!)
Another pic from my blooming photographer while we were waiting on the metro for the zoo (I think he's got skills but I could possibly be a bit biased):
It was a great weekend for us! But I was very happy to get home after being gone for a whole week!

Hey there beautiful, these are wonderful pictures! I just love D.C., my parents live in Chevy Chase, MD, so I am fortunate that I get to go fairly often. The picture of you in front of the Lincoln memorial is perfect, what a sweet little family you have! Enjoy the weekend! xox
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. I love the one of Walker swinging on the fence in front of the White House. What a fun trip for a boy his age. I know he must have been in heaven!
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful family. Cute pic of Walker with the butterfly on his head.
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks amazing! And your boy is a great photographer. That last picture seriously makes me smile big!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like y'all had a great time.
{Love your hair by the way...}
ReplyDeleteBut the Mr. and I were just talking about this!!
Okay. Now I really wanna go!! :)
