Baby birds are ugly and cute all at the same time.
I have baby birds on my front porch and I think they are adorable. They are actually on the railing, so we can get really good looks at them. I don't think I've ever seen baby birds so close. Walker is loving checking on them every day and the day they hatched I asked my neighbor to come over with his fancy lens and take some pics of them. If you shake the vine around their nest a little bit, they all pop up with their mouths wide open, waiting for food. Mama bird sits on a branch not too far away and makes as much noise as she can until we leave, but I think she's starting to warm up to us and realize we are not going to hurt. I can't wait to see them when they start trying to fly.

Oh wow! I have never seen baby birds that close up before. Hope you have a great day lady! xoxo
ReplyDeleteWe have baby birds too - in our condo's back porch roof the grated layer between our porch and the one on top of us. I can't see them, but hear them each morning from our bedroom!
ReplyDeleteWe had a nest above our light on our back porch last year. My husband was outside grilling and the mama bird kept swooping in and trying to attack him!! Plus, birds happen to be my biggest fear...so it was a rough summer :)
ReplyDeleteThat is an incredible picture! We have a mother bird on our window sill right now but I doubt I could get a picture like that one!
ReplyDeleteHe should totally submit this to Nat Geo Your Shot http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/your-shot/your-shot
ReplyDeleteSuper cool pic, Wendy! Just a thought, and not a very happy one, but look out for snakes! I interrupted a black snake that was climbing up the side of my parent's house trying to get to some baby birds. I was amazed that it could climb like that...and absolutely horrified. I imagine the porch would be a cake walk. I hope they remain undiscovered.

Incredible picture...I can just "hear" those baby chirps when I look at it...we are hearing a lot of birds down here in south Georgia (amazed that they aren't coughing on the pollen...)
