French Roll, Pegging...Everything Does Come Back Around

They say that every fashion trend comes back around eventually, but I really never thought I'd see the days of rolling the bottoms of jeans again. It even has a stylish new name: pegging or pegged pants. We just used to call it "rolling your jeans". I can now understand how horrified my mother was when I rolled every single pair of pants I wore in basically all of junior high. She tried to tell me how bad it was but "everyone was doing it".

I know the eighties are coming back and I can deal with the music, but some of the fashion trends just need to stay there. I mean come on, legwarmers too????
Up and Coming Fashion Trends from the 80s (according to the fall fashion show reports):

- Pegged pants
- Legwarmers/leggings
- One piece body suits
- Lace
- Headbands
- Booties

Maybe this is how our parents felt when wide-legged pants (aka bell-bottoms) and platforms shoes made a comeback.

  1. If it makes you feel better I saw some of the weirdest clothes in Urban Outfitters this weekend.

    arm warmers
these rolled jeans from the 80s
socks with the little balls on them

  2. Honestly, I never did the roll thing back "then" and would never consider doing it "now". For some reason I am thinking Katie Holmes has regressed a little in her fashion sense. She looks a little bedraggled or something to me.

  3. Yuck. This makes me so sad. I can deal with headbands, but the rest of it kills me.

  6. We called it pegging, too. no matter what you called it though, does it need to come back? One piece body suits may be worse though.

  8. And what about the dilemma of whether or not to peg them over or just on top of your colored socks that matched your outfit!?! Oh- 7th grade, I hear you calling my name!

  11. It is sad... I remember in Jr. High we used to all French Roll our jeans after gym class and there were only a couple of girls that could do it just right!

Star Wars Gift Bag Tags

Two years ago, for Walker's Star Wars birthday, I created Yoda tags to attach to the gift bags for the party. Little did I know these bag tags would become so popular on Pinterest! To date, these tags have been repinned almost 500 times!!! So I thought since there's so much interest, I'd add them to my Etsy shop . So now, for just $8.00 - you can receive the file electronically and print them for yourself! I jazzed them up a bit with some sliver glitter puff paint on the light saber and some silver ribbon to attach to the dollar store bags. Print as many or as few as you want! So, if you are planning a Star Wars party, check them out ! And may the force be with you!

Baby Shower Inspiration Boards

I got all excited about the baby shower inspiration board contest over at Sippycups Are for Chardonnay , but only ended up submitting this first one on time. I managed to pull the second together this weekend just for kicks and loved the colors, so thought I'd share here. The first board is call "Nesting Instincts" and the second is "Over the Rainbow". I think I could get addicted to creating these things.
